MY STORY
I am an entrepreneur just like you. One day I had what I thought was a brilliant idea—to help other individuals who want to move from being an employee to becoming an entrepreneur.
I worked for 17 years in various industries, such as electricity, government services to sales. I acquired, developed and enhanced my experience in hands-on system development, strategic planning, project management, sales, marketing and coaching. These areas became natural to me. I had a talent for identifying areas for improvement and change. I would start a job, pass the 3 months’ probation period and immediately began to examine and see where I could enhance the tasks. At times, I found myself in challenges with my colleagues because the changes I implemented would impact how they did their work. They had to change. Other times my employers would say “Coreen, you are making things so efficient you will soon be out of a job”. I would smile.
One day a female friend—who is an entrepreneur—was sharing the challenges and pains she was having with her 5 year old business. I offered to meet her and examine her processes. I arrived at her home at 10:00 am that spring day in 2008 and left at midnight. I revamped her pricing structure, the packages she offered, how she offered them, her process life-cycle from the consultation to the end of servicing a client. As a result we were amazed with our accomplishment.
That night she said to me, “Coreen, this is your gift and talent. You need to share it with others. What you just did for me was incredible and there are other women entrepreneurs out there looking for you. You are leaving my home and my mind is at ease. I know where I am going now and how to get there because of you”. While driving home I thought about it and agreed with her. That was the conception of me becoming an entrepreneur and the birth of Strategic Result.
The next day she went out, implemented what she learned—and saw immediate results. She expressed her appreciation for my personal coaching every step of the way. When she came upon difficult situations with her clients, I would coach her over the phone. Our consultation went on for six months or more. She accelerated in her business. She found higher profiled clients. She personally developed in areas where she was weak, as well as her leadership ability.
Has this journey of becoming an entrepreneur been easy for me? No! Were there times that I wanted to quit? Yes! Did I? No. Instead I paused—reassesed—cried a bit—had a few one minute pity parties—and moved on.
I am continually being trained to develop myself to deliver the highest value and quality service as a Critical Transition & Change Influencer to women entrepreneurs, to become a better entrepreneur in my role—as a woman.
I have much more I would like to share with all of you female entrepreneurs.
I am looking forward to meeting and conversing with you to develop an amazing business relationship. I want you to be inspired and be full of fire to move your life and business forward. Why? Because life is your business and your business is your life!
To do more you must become more. You already recognize it's time to do great things. So NOW is the time for you to think BIGGER.
I would like to share a few phrases I think of as an entrepreneur. Ponder on them. Apply them to your life and your business. Let them inspire you and guide your mind:
"The first step toward success is leading yourself exceptionally well" - Unkown –
"Everything Rises and Falls on Leadership" - John Maxwell-
"Progress always involves risks. You can't steal second base and keep your foot on first." -Frederick Wilcox, Write-
"One can choose to go back toward safety or forward toward growth. Growth must be chosen again and again; fear must be overcome again and again." - Abraham Maslow, Psychologist -
“Business is like a wheelbarrow- it stands still until someone pushes it” -William Feather-
Best Regards,
Coreen
